Meet the Landowner
Kirk Tovey is a longtime business owner and entrepreneur who balances his business pursuits with community responsibility and helping people.
Kirk has owned this undeveloped timberland site adjacent to I-95 along Laurel Island Parkway for 20 years. Kirk has contributed more than $676,000 in property tax revenue to Camden County and the City of Kingsland in that time, a depth of local ownership and standing that few development sites can match.

The Georgia Tech Enterprise Innovation Institute (EI²) is launching its Digital First Communities public engagement process in Camden County. Ninety percent of Georgians surveyed by the Georgia Chamber of Commerce say they want more transparency and engagement in project plans like this. Public engagement sessions will be held Thursday, October 1 at 6 p.m., Thursday, October 15 at 6 p.m., and Thursday, October 22 at 6 p.m. at the Kingsland Campus of the College of Coastal Georgia.
This is a chance to hear from Georgia Tech experts on the latest evidence-based research and findings related to data centers and other development projects like this. The public forums will be open to everyone and offer independent third-party data, expert analysis and answers to questions from the public about the development process as well as facts and figures about community impact. The goal of the process is to address issues raised by residents of Camden County and develop recommendations to community leaders on the standards and requirements for these types of developments in the county.

The landowner, Kirk Tovey, along with a team of technology, energy and business development partners.
The team is not the future operator of the innovation campus but rather is focused on developing the site to attract a suitable partner who must meet the strict requirements of the potential local ordinance being developed and considered in Camden County.
Kirk has owned the property for nearly 20 years and paid substantial property taxes annually to the county. He has a strong commitment to expand his community support in Camden County through this proposed project.
